Parent Involvement
Oasis North Elementary School strongly believes that parent involvement plays a critical role in the growth, development, happiness, and success of a child in school. We encourage and invite parents to become involved in their child's education. We offer many opportunities for involvement, which can be accomplished in or out of the classroom, at events, or at home.
Volunteers
All volunteers must be pre-approved. Complete the "gold" form found in the front office or complete the Oasis Volunteer Application Form here. Volunteers are not permitted the first weeks of school. For volunteer opportunities, please read the weekly Newsletter in OEN's Friday Flyers or reach out to your child's teacher throughout the year.
Level 2 Clearance
To help ensure a safe learning environment for all students, the Oasis System follows Florida law regarding school volunteers. In accordance with Florida Statutes Chapter 435 and Senate Bill 676 (2023), volunteers who have direct contact with students or who participate in certain school activities may be required to complete a Level 2 background screening, which includes fingerprinting and state and federal criminal history checks. Fingerprinting fees are the responsibility of the volunteer. The type of screening required depends on the nature of the volunteer activity. Parents and community members interested in volunteering should contact the school office for current volunteer requirements and approval procedures.

FLORIDA CARE PROVIDER BACKGROUND SCREENING NOTICE
Hours Reporting and Tracking:
- All volunteers must sign in and out at the main office.
- You will automatically receive credit for all hours through this check-in system.
- You must sign out in order to receive credit for your hours.
- If you sign out after the office is closed, you must leave your name badge from sign in with your teacher & write the time you left on it. They will turn it in so that your check out time can be input manually.
